When I came across the CluedUpp the detective mystery game ad and saw it was in my city, Cape Town, I was beyond excited. As a result, I immediately purchased a ticket. You purchase a ticket and get to pick friends or family to be in your team, you should be up to 6 in a team.
CluedUpp is an app-based mystery detective game that’s like the board game Cluedo. Using your smartphones GPS signal and map, you explore your city, solve riddles and interview witnesses to solve the mystery. Each mystery revolves around a different theme, the one I did was the Witchcraft & Wizardry. Which was exciting for me because I am a huge Harry Potter fan and I enjoy dressing up.
Other than solving the mystery you also entered into competitions. For instance, best dressed team, fastest team, best team picture, best team name and many more.
Outfits :
The Witchcraft & Wizardry consist of many different themes such as magical beings and creatures. I came across many Harry Potter fans that dressed up as students wearing the merchandise. Colours of the house that they consider themselves in such as Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Wearing a school outfit made up of a skirt/pants with a white shirt and a jersey over with a cloak. Including the house colour neck scarf and accessories or a wand and Harry Potter glasses and many different colour wigs.

I came across some dressed up as witches with different sorts of hats and broomsticks. There were people dressed up as unicorns some wearing simple unicorn onesies. Women wearing colourful skirts with a with top and a unicorn headband. A few fairies around dressed in pink and rainbow colours with glitter and wings.
To dress up is always fun and it’s great to be around others that are in character and seeing what they put together. With Halloween coming up a lot of teenagers are looking for new ideas of themes they haven’t done already and it’s great to find inspiration from others.
