DIY Hair Moisturising Masks And Mists For Summer

With the right summer hairstyle and DIY hair care recipes, you can maintain beautiful hair all summer long. There are many benefits to using a hair mask and the advantages vary depending on the ingredients and your hair type.

Hair Lightener – Summer is a great time to change your hair colour. Hair lighteners, like this chamomile spray for blondes, is easy to make. Mix the chamomile tea, lemon juice, cinnamon, honey, coconut oil and warm water into a glass bottle. Shake well before spraying on your hair. Ideally you’ll want to spray your hair when you plan to spend some time in the sun, the heat and sun will work its magic along with these ingredients.

SPF Hair Mist – While it’s certainly important to cover up your skin with sunscreen, don’t forget your hair! Sun can damage your hair just like it does your skin. Exposure to UVA and UVB rays, lots of sweat and humidity, and chlorinated pools or sea water can dry out and damage hair. Dilute 2 teaspoons of SPF 2 sunscreen in a cup of water, 3-4 drops of rosemary oil and shake well before each use.

Simply add 1 cup of hot water to a spray bottle with 2 teaspoons of sea salt and 1 tablespoon of coconut or argon oil. To form the waves, put your hair in a big, loose braid for a while. When it’s almost dry, let your hair down, scrunch and let it air dry.

Post-Sun Mask – Try this deep conditioning mask post-sun on your hair. A combination of shea butter with coconut oil. This hair mask adds ton of moisture, melt the oils together and whip it into a creamy texture for a better result. You can also just massage coconut oil directly onto the end of your hair anytime for a quick leave-in conditioner.

Leave-In Conditioner – Leave-in conditioners are great for keeping your hair nourished during thee hot sunny summer days. A conditioning spray with hair strengthening ingredients like argon oil, coconut milk and coconut oil. Coconut milk has high fat content proteins and vitamin E which nourishes hair from roots till ends. It helps restore thinning hair, split ends and dry, damaged hair.

Strengthening Mask – It’s important to keep your strands strong to prevent breakage and keep your hair going and smooth. Mix together 1 egg, coconut oil, almond oil and rosemary essential oil. Apply to damp, towel dried hair. Focus most of the mask on your ends, and work it up through your hair. Leave the mask is for 10-15 minutes, rinse out thoroughly with cool water.
